DeMolay is returning to Coloma and Southwest Michigan after an absence of more than 45 years!
The newly chartered Southwest Gold Coast Chapter has been established and is hosting an event to introduce itself to the community by hosting Super Brawl Sunday on Feb. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Coloma Masonic Lodge, located at 262 N. Paw Paw Street in Coloma. The free youth event, open to the public, provides an extra element of fun on Super Bowl Sunday. Youth between the ages of 9-18 can preregister for the event. Parents/guardians are welcome.
The event is a Super Smash Bros. tournament with retro console gaming, and BYOBG (bring your own board game) sessions. Snack foods and drinks will be provided. Direct any questions to: demolay.swgc.coloma@gmail.com.
For more than 100 years, DeMolay has helped boys become men of outstanding character, through dedicated mentorships and unique, hands-on life-skill programs. It is the premier organization based on timeless principles, committed to developing and inspiring leadership, team building, and networking for young men ages 12-21.
“The Southwest Gold Coast Chapter is now enrolling new members,” noted Chapter Chairman, Matt Moser. “Although the organization has strong ties to Masonic lodges, DeMolay is not a Masonic organization and there is no requirement for interested families to have any affiliation with Freemasonry.” Moser added that there are no annual dues.
DeMolay strives not only to create leaders, but extraordinary leaders of character. DeMolay stresses high moral values and safety. Every DeMolay Advisor must complete a Mandatory Youth
Protection Training program and pass a criminal background check by DeMolay International. In becoming a DeMolay member, young men can transform themselves into citizens of the highest caliber.
