Doris’ life began Aug. 1, 1925 in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in Roseland Illinois and performed on noted Chicago stages as a child tap dancer. She also summered at the family cottage on Windermere Landing on Paw Paw Lake, where she made many friends who would be with her later in life.
After graduating from Fenger High School where she starred in gymnastics, she continued her education at Augustana College, graduating in 1945. She next attended the University of Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in 1947. Careers as forensic scientist, wife and mother followed.
Doris was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Isabel and Walter French, as well as her husbands, Donald DuLaney and Charles Kibler.
Doris’ loving family includes: two sons, Walter (Lucy) DuLaney and Donald (Ann) DuLaney; two stepchildren, Charles (Pam) Kibler and Sandra (Jim) McClure; six grandchildren, Kenneth, James, Steven, Heather, Alexander and Christian; two great-granddaughters, Ada and Maeve; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Doris died Feb. 3, 2023. Doris’ life will be celebrated Tuesday, June 20 at 2 p.m. with a graveside service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery on Red Arrow Highway in Watervliet.
