Raise your hand if you have ever been taking a pleasant walk in the woods and then found yourself chased out by a mob of little flies buzzing relentlessly around you? Chances are your hand is raised if you have been walking in the woods in spring. Black flies range from 5 to 15 mm and look like a small house fly with bulging eyes.
