For 109 years, Selfridge Air National Guard Base has been a cornerstone of Michigan’s military strength and economic prosperity. The base supports an estimated 5,000 jobs and $800 million in annual economic impact for our state. Now its future is on the line, and Senate Democrats just dropped the ball.

For years, Lansing Democrats have gaslighted the public and fought tooth and nail against any basic measure of election transparency. Now, the U.S. Department of Justice is stepping in — demanding to review more than 865,000 ballots and election records from Wayne County tied to the 2024 federal election. Predictably, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and Attorney General Dana Nessel are doing everything they can to obstruct the probe.

Election integrity isn’t a partisan issue. It’s common sense. That’s why I am calling on the Michigan Senate to immediately take up and pass House Bill 4765, legislation advanced this week by House Republicans to safeguard our elections against noncitizen voting.
