It has been just over 1,250 days since Holtec International announced the acquisition of Palisades Nuclear Power Plant, with the intention of finishing the decommission process after it was announced in May 2022 and was planning to start the decommission process in June. However, Holtec International had a change of heart, announcing in early 2023 that it would be exploring a potential restart.
