MARK EDWIN BELFY Mark Edwin Belfy, 52, of Coloma passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at his residence.

Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Donations in memory of Mark may be made to any charity of the donor’s choosing. Those wishing to leave an online message of remembrance may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com. Mark was born May 24, 1967 in Big Rapids, Michigan to Ed and Sharyn (Sinclair) Belfy. He graduated from Coloma High School and was an avid sports fanatic that followed all sports however a favorite was the University of Michigan. In addition to his parents Mark is survived by his brother Bob Belfy of Coloma; three aunts, Cynthia Bartlett, Jeanne Belfy, and Carol Wojan. Also surviving are several cousins and many close friends.

OWAHN KEITH UNGER Owahn Keith Unger, 68, of Watervliet, passed away on Monday, Jan. 13 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville after a long illness.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17 at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Keith’s memory may be made to the North Berrien Military Rites Team. Those wishing to leave a message or share a memory with the family online may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com. Keith was born September 7, 1951 in Martinsburg, W. Va. to Jerry and Gladys (Hoffmaster) Unger. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era and was employed by Meijer in Benton Harbor for 15 years. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his daughter and grandkids. He was also a member of the American Legion, NRA and VFW. Keith is survived by his daughter Julie Unger, grandchildren Harleigh and Jerry Unger, Kellsei Long, Rhylee and Makenayh Collins, a special nephew Dave (Bear) Cartwright and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son Josh Unger.

DANIEL ARTHUR BAKER Daniel Arthur Baker was born January 15, 1957 in Watervliet, the son of Arthur and Grace (Vermillion) Baker both of whom precede him in passing. Danny, as he was known by everyone, passed away suddenly at the age of 62 on Friday, Jan. 3, 2020 at Lakeland Hospital Watervliet. On June 29, 2012, Danny was united in marriage to Pamela Davis and she survives along with a sister, Diana Gregory and a brother, Kenny Baker both of Hartford and numerous other family members and friends. Danny was formerly employed at LADD Assisted Living in Dowagiac, was a professional painter and landscaper. In his spare time, you would find him either fishing or hunting and if not there, he would be working in his back yard. He especially loved the time spent with his wife and friends. In holding with Danny’s wishes, cremation has taken place and at this time no services are planned. ROBERT “BOB” J. LATUS Robert “Bob” J. Latus, 81, lifelong resident of Hartford, was born February 10, 1938 at his family home at 208 East Main Street. Bob left his earthly home suddenly on Monday, January 6, 2020. He was the sixth child of the late Dr. Leo and Rosaline Boland Latus. Preceding him in death are siblings: Mary Ellen Learner, Leo J. “Bud” Latus, Frances Del Pizzo, Dr. Thomas Latus, Peter Latus, and son-in-law Larry Kesselring. Bob is survived by wife, Elizabeth “Bette” Carol Roberts and their children, Audrey (John) Klug, DeAnna Kesselring, George (Linda) Latus, Jonathan and (Pam) Latus, Matthew (Tammi) Latus, and Pamela Latus. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren: Melissa, Robert, Phillip, Taylor, Jason, Jill, Trevor, Christin, Carson, Jaxom, Tanner, Delenn, Emelia, Chandler, Catherine, and Daniel; 11 great-grandchildren: Kira, Millie, Ashlyn, Owen, Henry, Zoey, Wyatt, Adalynn, Blake, Penelope, and Logan; his sister Alice (Clarence) Hill; sisters-in-law Marilyn Latus and Lois Latus; many loving nieces, nephews, and others who shared his life. Bob served in the army reserves for nine years where he specialized in food service. He was formerly employed by the U.S. Postal Service where he retired after 35 years in 1993 as Post Master of Paw Paw, Michigan. He was a member of the Hartford Volunteer Fire Department for 20 years and was an EMT. Bob and his brother Bud loved running the score board and clock for 35 years at the Hartford football games. Bob served on many community service projects. He loved promoting the history of Hartford to anyone who would listen. Bob was a life-long member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. A Rosary service was held there on Friday, Jan. 10 followed by visitation. The funeral mass was celebrated Saturday, Jan. 11. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hartford Public Library in the name of Robert J. Latus. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
