WATERVLIET SOUTH SCHOOL CHARACTER AWARDS… At South Elementary they are working on putting their South School pledge into action each day. For January they are focusing on learning about cooperation. The “Cooperation” awards for January 12, 2017 were presented to: (from the left) Emma Ausra, Kindergarten student in Mrs. Trapp’s room; Luis Vellegas, 1st Grade student in Mrs. Cullitan’s room; and Lizzie Torres, 2nd Grade student in Mrs. Iliff’s room. 16th Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet

 On Saturday, February 25, 2017 doors open at 5:00 p.m. for the 16th Annual Hunting Heritage Banquet held at Pebblewood Banquet Hall, 9794 Jericho Road in Bridgman. The banquet is hosted by the Berrien County Trophy Toms, members of the National Wild Turkey Federation.

HARTFORD HIGH SCHOOL’S “STUDENTS OF THE WEEK”… for the week of January 9-13, 2017 are pictured (from the left): 9th Grade – Joseph Beebe, student of William & Teresa Statler; 10th Grade – Brandon Galvan, student of Tony & Debbie Galvan; 11th Grade – Jessica Cortes, student of Ernesto Cortes & Martha Anguiano; 12th Grade – Brittney Smith, student of James Smith. To become a “Student of the Week”, students are nominated by teachers or staff for doing something positive. For example: getting a good grade on tests or homework, doing well in class participation or just being a kind person to another. Selected students will receive a certificate, their picture taken & posted in the HS front lobby showcase for the week and in the Tri-City Record newspaper. At the end of the school year, all Students of the Week names will be entered in a drawing for some cool prizes, treats or gift cards. Congratulations to these “Students of the Week” and keep up the great work!
