WMS Students of the Month for January 2019
The sixth grade team at Watervliet Middle School is proud to announce Alyssa Brown as Student of the Month for January! Alyssa is the daughter of Staci Unruh Brown and David Brown. She has one sister, Katelyn, who is 9. Alyssa’s favorite subject is math. She likes the challenge of solving
problems and loves to play with numbers. She enjoys reading, doing crafts, camping and being outdoors. After Alyssa graduates from high school, she would like to go to college to become a teacher. The sixth grade team chose Alyssa because she is cheerful, helpful, works hard, does her best and is always respectful. The seventh grade team is proud to announce Trevor Tavolacci as the January Student of the Month! Trevor is the son of Beth and Jason Schaefer. He has a younger brother named Deven. Trevor likes all of his teachers, but his favorite class is art because he likes to draw and work with clay. Mrs. Zalewski-Buck says, “Trevor is a talented young artist. He is reflective on his art making process, enhancing his creative ability while illustrating strong character. Being exceptionally skillful with his fine attention to detail, Trevor has created successful artworks throughout the course of this year. In the words of Henri Matisse, ‘Creativity takes courage.’ I am certain Trevor will continue to flourish during his creative pursuits.” At school, Trevor is a member of Honor Club and sings in the choir. Outside of school, Trevor enjoys drawing and playing video games. His favorite game is Super Mario Brothers. Trevor’s friends describe him as a really good friend who will cheer you up when you are sad, listen to you when you are having a hard time and need to talk, and is just a really fun person. In the future, Trevor would like to attend the University of Michigan and create animations for YouTube. Eighth grade at WMS is proud to announce Reegan McConnell as Student of the Month for January! Reegan is the daughter of Bobbie Klann and has one brother, Kyle McConnell. Reegan’s favorite subject in school is History. Her love of the subject has inspired her to want to attend college after high school to become a college professor in the subject of history. In Reegan’s free time she enjoys drawing, reading and cooking. Reegan is a hard worker in the classroom, has a positive attitude, is kind to others and is always willing to help out! Congratulations to all three students for January!
