Kute Kids”… THIS “KUTE KID” IS… 4-year-old Rosalie DaPalma. She just celebrated her birthday in December. Her mom is Alisha DePalma from St Joseph, Michigan. Rosie’s Aunt Angela Miles shared this photo with the Tri-City Record readers out of love for her niece. IGHTY PANTHER AWARD WINNERS AT SOUTH ELEMENTARY… All students at Watervliet’s South Elementary School began 2019 in a MIGHTY way with the school-wide PBIS kick-off. PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. Teachers, staff, and students are working together throughout South Elementary to “Be Safe, Be Respectful, and Be Responsible” which all add up to: BE A MIGHTY PANTHER! These five students were awarded the first “Mighty Panther Awards” for their amazing behavior on the playground. Watervliet High School students to perform Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. in March

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” will be presented in the Watervliet High School Auditorium on Friday, March 22, 2019 and Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The 60-minute musical is based on the 2008 Broadway production and the 1989 animated feature film. The cast contains approximately 55 students directed by Tami Brush, and assisted by Erin Faultersack, Jennifer Hollandsworth and Alyson Wendzel. This classic Disney title contains all of the songs from the Academy Award winning animated feature film as well as three new songs from the Broadway show. The Little Mermaid Jr. takes place in a magical kingdom beneath the sea, where a beautiful young mermaid named Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father, the king of the sea, escape the clutches of an evil sea witch and convince a prince that she’s the girl with the perfect voice. The performances of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid Jr.” are open to the public in the Watervliet High School Auditorium on Friday, March 22, 2019 and Saturday, March 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for students and senior citizens.
