Berrien RESA to host 2019 Festival of Families Opportunities available for sponsorship, vendors and volunteers This fall, Berrien Regional Education Service Agency (Berrien RESA) will be hosting its 7th annual countywide event for families and children wishing to learn more about educational programs offered in their community. The event, the Berrien RESA Festival of Families, will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds in Berrien Springs. The 2019 Festival of Families will feature a resource expo where families can learn about a variety of community programs and services designed to help their children thrive. Also, for the second year, the event will feature a 5K run/walk benefiting the United Way of Southwest Michigan and MyTEAM TRIUMPH. Berrien RESA is currently offering sponsorship opportunities for this year’s Festival. Sponsorships levels range from a Donating Sponsor (providing a product or service) to a Premier Sponsor (top billing on all printed materials, included in all media marketing as well as have a section of the event named after the donor). The Festival is also seeking vendors. Those community entities wanting to showcase their community or education-related program or business are welcome to become a vendor. All vendors must submit a $50 non-refundable fee to offset building rental charges. Volunteers are also needed. Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for Michigan Flywheelers Museum May 17 Michigan Flywheelers Museum is hosting a homemade spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Friday, May 17 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the American Legion in South Haven. Dinner includes spaghetti with meat sauce, garlic bread, salad and dessert. Cost is $9 per adult and $4 for children 12 and under. Meatless sauce will be available. Proceeds from the dinner are earmarked for the construction of an addition to the Stephenson Barn. The addition will allow more space for educational events and other programs. The American Legion is located at 129 Michigan Ave. For more information, contact the museum at 269-639-2010. The museum’s main events for 2019 are Farm History Day, May 10; Swap Meet, June 7 & 8; and Antique Engine & Tractor Show, Thursday, Sept. 5 thru Sunday, Sept. 8. Lasagna Dinner at Coloma American Legion Post May 17 American Legion Post #362 located at 351 E. St. Joseph Street in Coloma is holding a Lasagna Dinner on Friday, May 17, 2019. Dinner includes lasagna, salad and Italian bread for $9.50 per person and is being served from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited and take-outs are available.

Watervliet All Class Reunion announces date

The date for this years’ meeting of the Watervliet All Class Reunion (formerly the Watervliet 40 Year Club) is Saturday, August 17, 2019. The location will be the Watervliet Middle School, 450 East St. Joseph Street, Watervliet. Social hour begins at 11:00 a.m., with lunch being served at noon.

Anyone that graduated from, or attended the Watervliet Public School system is welcome to attend. Former school employees are welcome also. Besides the social hour and lunch, tours will be available for the Middle and High School buildings and grounds.

Reservations are $15.00 per person, and are due by Friday, August 9, 2019.
