05-30-2019 Grand Opening held at Water & Wheat; Adams celebrate 60 years

60 years celebrated with family A family dinner in a Fort Smith, Arkansas restaurant was where Richard and Emma (Vaughn) Adams celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. In 1959, they married in Berrien County, Michigan but transferred to Ft. Smith, Arkansas in 1967 with their two children, Michael (deceased) and Marcia. In 2001, they moved to Oklahoma, where they are living today. Marcia and Jeff Tomlin, of Muldrow, Oklahoma, and their two sons, Stephen (Sarah) Tomlin and Alex Tomlin (and girlfriend, Rachel), and two great-grandchildren, Sarah Kate and Isaac Tomlin, all took part in the celebration. The Adams still have extended family in the Hartford and Bangor areas.


Paw Paw Lake Association meeting Saturday

The Paw Paw Lake Association will meet on Saturday, June 1 at 9:00 a.m. at Watervliet Township Hall, 4959 M-140. Members and guests are invited.

Wednesday planning meeting at City Hall for Watervliet Independence Day Celebration

Members of the Watervliet Independence Day Celebration 2019 committee (WBA) are holding an organization meeting on Wednesday, June 5 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting is at Watervliet City Hall. Final details are being worked out and they are looking for volunteers to make this festival bigger and better than last year! Please mark this date on your calendars and plan on attending.

THIS KUTE KID IS… 8-year-old Drake Owen Goldner of Benton Harbor, Michigan. He attends Coloma Schools. He enjoyed his first year wrestling for Coloma and is currently playing baseball. Drake loves being outside and playing with his dogs. He is the son of Gary Goldner and Brandi Adkin; also the grandson of Pat and Margaret Doud of St. Joseph and Mario and Nancy Palmisano of Buchanan.


Church rummage sale to benefit heart transplant candidate

The Hartford Bible Church, formerly Hartford Federated Church, is having a huge rummage sale Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1. On Friday the sale will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday it is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Many useful items have been donated to the sale including a variety of farm related items, housekeeping items, furniture, outdoor things. The church is accepting donations through Saturday and they expect additional items to be available throughout the sale. Proceeds from the sale are going to the Patricia Rosier Heart Transplant Fund. The church is located at 65418 Red Arrow in Hartford.
