Hartford Strawberry Festival Friday & Saturday

Organizers of the Hartford Strawberry Festival have another fun-filled event planned for visitors June 7 & 8, 2019. Most activities are being held at Ely Park right in the heart of downtown Hartford.

Activities will kick off at noon on Friday, June 7 with vendors of food and favorites. Rides presented by Vertical Edge Entertainment will start at 4:00 p.m. and continue until 9:00 p.m. The kiddie parade will be at 6:00 p.m., heading from Red Arrow Elementary down Main Street. Royalty will be selected at 6:45 p.m., followed by a magic show at 7:30 p.m.

On Saturday, June 8, the pancake breakfast at the Hartford High School cafeteria will start things off, beginning at 7:00 a.m. The Strawberry Run will also start at the Hartford High School with the 1-mile fun run at 8:00 a.m. followed by the 5K run/walk and 10k run at 8:30.

Rides, food and favorite vendors will continue from 10 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. A sidewalk chalk art contest is being hosted by the Hartford Public Library at 10:00 a.m. A Cardio Drumming exhibition will be held at 11:00 a.m. followed by a bean bag tournament, being hosted by the American Legion, at noon.

The Strawberry Parade will be held at 1:00 p.m. down Main Street. Other highlights of Saturday afternoon are pony rides and a petting zoo, bed races, pie eating contest, and a Hoola Hoop contest. The finale of the event will be the Schlitz Creek Bluegrass Band concert from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

Strawberry Prince and Princess, Strawberry Shortcakes, and Sweetest Strawberry candidates can be voted on at Harding’s Market in Hartford. One penny equals one vote. Voters may also do so online at https://form.jotform.com/91375218717159.
