Summer reading program at Covert Library ends with party

As the summer winds down and the school year approaches, there are many great events happening at VBDL Covert Branch Library for the community to enjoy. The Summer Reading Program, titled “A Universe of Stories,” concludes in August with the library’s annual Summer Reading Party on Friday, August 16 from 12:00-3:00 p.m. There will be a slip and slide, mini golf, a piñata, food, prizes, and games for attendees to enjoy. The final day to turn in any Summer Reading Program reading tally sheets is Saturday, August 17. The grand prize winners will be announced and contacted on Monday, August 19. In book club news, the Cover to Cover Book Club meets on Monday, August 19 at 5:00 p.m. for a special movie night and discussion. The club will watch the Academy Award winning film “Green Book,” which was also the month’s book selection.
