NOTICE OF SECOND PUBLIC HEARING
LITTLE PAW PAW LAKE AQUATIC MANAGEMENT SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 2
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Township Board of the Charter Township of Coloma, Berrien County, Michigan, has determined to make certain improvements for the eradication or control of aquatic weeds and plants in Little Paw Paw Lake, and other treatment and maintenance of Little Paw Paw Lake (“the Improvements”), located within a special assessment district tentatively designated as the Little Paw Paw Lake Aquatic Management Special Assessment District No. 2 (the “District”), pursuant to Act 188 of the Public Acts of Michigan of 1954, MCL 41.721 et seq., as amended (“Act 188”).
DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
The Township Board has tentatively determined that all or part of the cost of said Improvements shall be specially assessed against each of the following described lots and parcels of land, which parcels are benefited by the Improvements and which together comprise the following proposed special assessment district:

TAKE NOTICE that the Township Board of the Township of Coloma will hold a public hearing at a regular meeting of the Township Board on September 13, 2017, at 7:00 P.M., at the Coloma Charter Township Hall, 4919 Paw Paw Lake Rd., Coloma, Michigan 49038, within the Township, to review the special assessment roll and consider any objections to the special assessment roll.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that preliminary plans and estimates of cost for the Improvements are on file with the Township Clerk for public examination. PROPERTY SHALL NOT BE ADDED TO THE PROPOSED SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT AND THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE OF COST SHALL NOT BE INCREASED BY MORE THAN 10% WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE AND PUBLIC HEARING.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that the special assessment roll as prepared has been reported to the Township Board and is on file with the Township Clerk at the Township Hall for public examination.
TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT AN OWNER OR PARTY IN INTEREST IN A LOT OR PARCEL OF LAND SUBJECT TO A SPECIAL ASSESSMENT MAY FILE A WRITTEN APPEAL OF THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT WITH THE MICHIGAN TAX TRIBUNAL WITHIN THIRTY (30) DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF CONFIRMATION OF THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT ROLL, BUT ONLY IF SAID OWNER OR PARTY IN INTEREST APPEARS AND PROTESTS THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT AT THIS HEARING. An appearance may be made by an owner or party in interest, or his or her agent, in person or, in the alternative, an appearance or protest can be filed with the Township by letter prior to the hearing, in which case a personal appearance at the hearing is not required.
This Notice was authorized by the Township Board of the Charter Township of Coloma.
