has Superbooks for sale

 After coming off a successful Glad- Peach Rotary Silent Auction the Paw Paw Lake Rotary Club is raising funds again. The funds raised will help the Miracle League bring baseball to otherwise disadvantaged youth and to help Lakeland’s Watervliet Hospital Foundation raise funds for the renovation of the Par Course on the hospital campus.  Rotary has been a staunch supporter of our local Miracle League Baseball program watching it grow from 33 players when it began to over 75 this past year. Since 2002 Rotary has donated over $20,000 to the Miracle League and was instrumental helping to build dugouts for these amazing kids. One of the great things about these contributions is we get to watch the young boys and girls play a game they love.  Another place our funding and “sweat” equity has been donated over the years is our Rotary Club’s support for the Par Course on the hospital campus. From inception to now Rotary has helped fund maintenance, supported the infrastructure and has donated thousands of dollars and in kind work to keep the Par Course a valuable asset to our three communities. Paw Paw Lake Rotary serves Hartford, Watervliet and Coloma.  Please remember that the Paw Paw Lake Rotary Club is selling Super Books again this year. Bones in Balance classes helps individuals with Osteoporosis

 Lakeland Orthopedic Physical Therapy is now enrolling participants for Bones in Balance, a four-week program designed to teach those diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteopenia how to successfully live with these conditions through self-management. Bones in Balance incorporates education and exercise and is led by specially trained physical therapists. The program includes valuable self-management tips from a pharmacist, registered dietitian, nurse educator, and counselor.  Classes meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays for a four-week period at the Center for Outpatient Services, located at 3900 Hollywood Road in St. Joseph. Registration is now open for the next set of classes which will run from Sep. 5 to 29 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.  Osteoporosis is a debilitating disease that affects over 44 million Americans, and although both men and women can develop the disease, over 80 percent of sufferers are women over the age of 45. Osteoporosis is commonly referred to as “the silent disease,” because bone loss occurs without any visible symptoms at first. Many people do not realize they have osteoporosis until their bones are so weak that the smallest strain or fall causes a bone to fracture.  A physician’s order is required for Bones in Balance, and the class is billable to insurance.
