Stantz-Lynch engagement announcement

Travis and Nicole McKinney of Watervliet announce the en-gagement of their daughter Morgan Stantz to Kevin Lynch, son of Tim and Carla Lynch of Watervliet. Miss Stantz is a graduate of Grand Rapids Community Col-lege, and is a preschool teacher in Grandville, Michigan. Mr. Lynch is a graduate of Bay Col-lege, and is an operator for the City of Wyoming Clean Water Plant. The date for their wed-ding is planned for May 12, 2018.


Watervliet Junior Class Pulled Pork Dinner this Friday

 Tuesday the kids went back to school and the Watervliet High School Junior Class is hitting the ground running. Friday, September 8, they are hosting a pulled pork dinner fundraiser in the Watervliet Panthers stadium.

It starts at 4 p.m. and the cost is $7.00 a meal or $6.00 for just a sandwich. Meals are also available for take-out.

Watch both football teams take on Glen Lake, JV plays at 4 p.m. and Varsity plays at 7 p.m. It’s going to be a great Friday night!

Hartford League of Miracles holding fundraiser to benefit special needs kids sports

 On Saturday, Sep. 16 Rocking For Our Kids presents Black Ice hosted by Hartford Council for Recreation League of Miracles. This event is a time for families to have fun and raise money to help special needs kids enjoy playing sports.

The event runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hartford Motor Speedway. Admission is $5 per person, a family of 3 or more is $12.

Plans include an outdoor movie for the kids for $1, games, silent raffle and jail and bail for $5.

A meal deal for $6 includes sandwich, chips and drink. On the menu is pulled pork, hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and candy. Bringing your own beverage is allowed with the exception of glass bottles.

Also at this event Hartford League of Miracles is collecting Purina dog food (yellow bag), canned cat food of any kind, bleach and paper towels. These donations are going to Ray of Hope Rescue Ranch. A meal ticket will be given for each donation.

Watervliet Recreation Council offer selection meeting coming up

 The Watervliet Recreation Council official officer selection meeting for the 2018 baseball/ softball season will be held on Sunday, September 17 at 6 p.m. This meeting will take place at VFW Post 6803, 8777 Red Arrow Highway in Watervliet. Anyone interested in joining and/or becoming an officer please attend!

Collective Goods sale hosted by Lakeland Hospital, Watervliet Auxiliary Sep. 19

 The Watervliet Hospital Auxiliary will host their Collective Goods (formerly known as Books are Fun) fall sale. It will be held at Lakeland Hospital Watervliet on Tuesday, September 19, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Wednesday, September 20, 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
