WATERVLIET MIDDLE SCHOOL Sixth Grade Team is proud to announce Alex Sexton as Student of the Month for September! Alex is the son of Matt & Angie Sexton. He has one brother, David, and two sisters, Rachel and Vivian. Alex’s favorite school subject is Science, because he likes making things and robotics. After he graduates from high school, he would like to go to college. Alex would like to become a mechanic. In school, Alex is involved in cross country. Outside of school, he likes to ride dirt bikes and play Fortnite. The Sixth Grade Team chose Alex because he is extremely respectful to his teachers and peers, volunteers often in class, and is very hard working. Congratulations Alex!

WATERVLIET MIDDLE SCHOOL seventh grade is proud to announce Karley Knight as the September Student of the Month! Karley is the daughter of Heidi and Eric Knight. She has three siblings: Kiersten, Natalie, and Brooklynn. Karley’s favorite class is ELA because it’s fun and she has many friends in her hour. Coach 0 is her favorite teacher because of his personality and she likes the projects that he assigns. Coach 0 says Karley is always energetic and he enjoys having her in class. Karley keeps herself busy with 4-H, showing her horses, and hanging out with her friends. She also enjoys playing volleyball and softball. Karley’s friends say she is funny, optimistic, kind, and helpful. In the future, Karley plans to attend college to become a pediatric nurse. She would also like to visit all 50 states. Congratulations Karley!

“Kute Kids”… THIS “KUTE KID” is… Ava Brielle Thomas! She turned 9 in July and is a 3rd grader at Watervliet North Elementary School. Ava is a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She enjoys being with her friends and mostly family. Ava loves being active, she plays softball, cheer and acrobats and is hoping to try basketball this year. She enjoys hunting and fishing, but don’t let this fool you, she is a girly girl also and loves participating in local pageants. Ava is the daughter of Dennis Jr. and Kassie Thomas, they live in Sister Lakes. Her grandparents are Kathy and James Blanchard (Coloma), the late Donnie Scates, Dennis Sr. and Donna Thomas (Watervliet) and Bernice and Ken Culbreath (Venus, TX). Ava has one brother, Jacob Thomas.

He has four siblings: OJ, Tyler, Body, and Jake. Connor has plans to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering upon graduating high school, and enjoys building things in his spare time. His favorite quote is, “Be your best!” Which was said to him by his favorite teacher, however, he is not mentioning any names as to whom that might be. Way to go, Connor!
