WATERVLIET HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS OF THE MONTH… for November are (from the left): Fresh-man Abigail Burrows, Sophomore Ashley Bumstead, Junior Allen Cha-pin III, and Senior Nicholas Swan-son. Students from each grade level are chosen by the staff each month. Stu-dents may be chosen for grades, attitude, performance, improvements made, being leaders in the class, or for helping others. Lake Michigan College to hold open auditions for Hairspray

 Lake Michigan College is seeking up to 32 student and community actors to perform in its spring musical, “Hairspray.”

Director, Paul Mow, of LMC’s Performing Arts department will hold public auditions from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 and Wednesday, Dec. 13 in The Mendel Center’s Hanson Theatre in Benton Harbor. Dance callbacks will be held Monday, Dec. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m.

This lively, highly choreographed musical will require some performers with extensive dance and vocal experience. Contenders will be asked to read a selection of slides from the show, and should come prepared with one or two pieces of American musical theatre no longer than 32 measures. Comedic monologues up to 90 seconds will also be welcome.
