2021 Senate Republican priorities

I have helped lead the development of the Senate Republican caucus’s 2021 priorities, which were announced Tuesday ahead of Gov. Whitmer’s State of the State address.

Southwest Michigan families and families across the state are facing many challenges as we begin the new year, and they deserve peace of mind about their future and livelihoods. It was an honor to help lead my colleagues in this effort to put together a comprehensive list of priorities, which will be a key to delivering solutions and building a healthier Michigan. Let’s get to work.

The Senate Republican priorities are presented in three main categories: Healthier Families and Communities, a Healthier Economy, and Building a Healthier Future. The caucus identified protecting Michiganders from COVID-19, making Michigan a welcoming home for new and existing businesses, and getting students back on track as some of the top issues facing the people of Michigan at the start of the 101st Legislature. Overall, 19 issue areas were prioritized.

I worked with Sen. Dan Lauwers, R-Brockway Township, and Sen. Roger Victory, R-Hudsonville, on the list of priorities, which were announced by Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey.

Serving Southwest Michigan in the state Senate is an honor. My staff and I are available to provide help where we can. Please call 517-373-6960. People may also email my office at SenKLaSata@senate.michigan.gov.
