21st Annual Support the Troops Christmas Open House, Nov. 1

Blue Star Mothers of America #177 will sponsor the 21st Annual Support the Troops Christmas Open House on Saturday, Nov. 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 4071 Naomi Rd. in Sodus. Everyone is welcome!

It is time, once again, to help make Christmas a little bit more special for our troops. Community members can partner with Blue Star Mothers to provide Christmas boxes for our military, active and non-active. The group will be packing boxes with suggested items such as wet wipes, foot/body powder, cans of fruit, tuna/chicken pouches, beef jerky, instant drink mixes (including hot chocolate), gum, mints, nuts, popcorn, granola & cereal bars, Slim Jims, crackers, and cookies. Hard candy and black or white crew socks are also suggested. Any Christmas stockings donated will be welcome, too.

Locally, donations can be dropped off in advance to the Coloma Public Library, 151 W. Center St. or Coloma American Legion Post 362, 6505 Red Arrow Hwy. during open hours through Wednesday, Oct. 22. Another option to help is by sending monetary donations to Blue Star Mothers Chapter 177, P.O. Box 76, Stevensville MI 49127. Money is needed to help defray the cost of postage and items needed.
