At the time of submitting this column, the issue of funding the government beyond December 20, 2024 had not been resolved. Thanks to increased accountability and engagement from the American people, the size of the latest government funding legislation was reduced by 92.5%. What started as a 1,547-page Christmas Tree loaded with pork had been whittled down to 116 pages. This is the type of commonsense Americans voted for. Sadly, this particular bill did not garner the necessary support to pass.
