Berrien Community Foundation presents grant check for $7,475 to Coloma PTO for playground equipment

COMPLETING PTO GOAL… On Jan. 9, 2024 the Berrien Community Foundation (BCF) Program Director presented a grant check for $7,475 to Coloma PTO for playground equipment at the school. Coloma teacher Rochelle Ulleg wrote the grant application and spearheaded the idea to begin a fundraising campaign to raise $10,000 to purchase playground equipment for Coloma Elementary school in honor of former Coloma elementary teacher Angela Arent Seabury. Mrs. Seabury taught in the district for 34 years and had a dream to upgrade the playground for the students. Unfortunately, Seabury died suddenly a few months after retiring in 2022. The check from Berrien Community Foundation, donated funds, and contributions from the Coloma Parent-Teacher Organization make the purchase and installation of a Little Tykes revolutionary spinner and 14’ spinner wear mat a reality for the students in the spring of 2024.
