Berrien County 4-H Leaders Association annual elections Watervliet student selected as teen representative

The Berrien County 4-H Leaders Association recently held its annual elections for open seats on its executive board, also known as the Berrien County 4-H Leaders Council. The Berrien County 4-H Leaders Council serves as counsel to the 4-H Program Coordinator for 4-H Youth Development and the Berrien County MSUE staff. Council members, in addition to their monthly meetings, serve as chairs to various committees that provide events throughout the Berrien County 4-H program.

Berrien County 4-H youth between the ages of 13-19 years were able to cast their ballot for one teen representative, while adult leaders cast ballots for four adult representatives.

Teen Leader elected to the 4-H Leaders Council to serve a 2-year term is Lauren Lovell – Teen Leader for Tryon 4-H Saddle Club. Lauren is a senior at Watervliet High School.

Newly elected adults leaders to the 4-H Leaders Council include: Full 3-year terms are Melissa Richards (Four Flags 4-H Club), Karey Sebasty (Galien Chanters 4-H Club & We Can Ride 4-H Club), Bobbi Lawson (Galien Chanters 4-H Club, Teen/Service 4-H Club & We Can Ride 4-H Club) and Katrina Schneider of Galien Chanters 4-H Club for a 1-year term.

Newly-appointed representatives will be officially “seated” on Council during the Jan. 22, 2024, Re-organizational meeting. Council members still serving terms include Roxy Cochran (Tryon 4-H Saddle Club), Shelley Zeiger (River Valley Wranglers 4-H Club), Schyler Pellet (Baroda Bunnies 4-H Club), Ashley Herr (Baroda Bunnies 4-H Club), Heather Boyle (Baroda Bunnies 4-H Club), Teen Leader Jennifer Pellett (Baroda Bunnies 4-H Club), and Teen Leader Kayleigh Lawrick (Baroda Bunnies 4-H Club).
