The Berrien County Health Department provides tick bite prevention tips to community members in recognition of Lyme Disease. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread to people through the bite of a blacklegged tick. According to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, 81 of Michigan’s 83 counties have a known or potential risk of Lyme disease as of 2024, including Berrien County.
