During the recent Michigan Association of Administrators of Special Education’s (MAASE) annual Summer Institute, Eric Hoppstock, Superintendent of Berrien Regional Education Service Agency (Berrien RESA), was awarded the prestigious Marvin Beekman Award for 2020. The award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves in the administration and leadership of special education programs at the local, regional (ISD) or state level. The winner is selected by a representative committee, focusing on the candidate’s education, experience, current administrative responsibilities, honors and special recognition, organizational memberships and involvement, community activities, and any distinguishing qualities which would make a candidate worthy of the award.
