CATHERINE R. NYBRO

 Catherine “Ramona” Nybro’s life began Feb. 3, 1929, in Benton Harbor. She grew up in Southwest Michigan, graduating from Coloma High School. She made her home in Watervliet as an adult. Ramona worked for V&M, Modern Plastics and then lastly at Whirlpool as an inspector. Outside of work she was a member of DAR, serving as their secretary. She was a synchronized swimmer, enjoyed helping teach her children to swim, and watching her grandchildren swim in Paw Paw Lake. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband. Ramona was a member of Midway Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served as the Sunday School secretary.

 Ramona’s greatest joy was spending time with her large loving family which includes: four children Barbara Bahm, Richard Nybro, Dennis Nybro, and Donna (Robert) Mundt; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law Tom Beezley; and many nieces and nephews.

 Ramona died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, peacefully at her home on Paw Paw Lake. She is preceded in death by her husband Ernest, a daughter Darcy Beezley, her parents Everette and Florence (Wheeler) Smith, a daughter-in-law Rosetta Nybro, and a son-in-law Dana Bahm.

 Funeral services were celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026, at Midway Baptist Church. Burial is in Crystal Springs Cemetery in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
