Changing conversations

Imagine a young boy walking on the beach with his father in hand. They walk together, gentle surf occasionally washing their feet as they parallel the ocean on this sunny afternoon. The boy’s security is obviously his dad’s presence because when he spies a shiny shell and releases his dad’s hand to investigate, he is quick to return when an incoming wave appears to be more threatening. Not much conversation. Just a presence and a touch.
