COVID cases continue downward trend

Reported in a weekend press release, word comes from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta that says average daily new coronavirus cases in the United States dipped below 100,000 in recent days for the first time since Nov. 4, 2020. A total of 602,906 new cases were reported in the last seven days. Experts cautioned that infections still remain high and precautions to slow the pandemic must remain in place. Face masks and social distancing mandates are still in place.
