Creating the January 6 Commission

On January 6th, while I joined my House and Senate colleagues in a joint session of Congress to certify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory, our nation witnessed one of our darkest days as a violent mob descended upon the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to undo the constitutional transfer of power. During the attack, over 100 local and federal law enforcement officers were injured and, tragically, one officer lost his life.
