Demolition of old Catholic church on Crescent in Watervliet still on track for end of year, cost split between Berrien County & the city

The blighted property located at 204 Crescent St. in Watervliet, abandoned Catholic church and a parish residential structure slated for demolition went out for second bids by Berrien County. Per Watervliet City Manager Tim Sutherland at the city commission meeting on Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, the bids did come back a little higher than the previous bids. The asbestos removal being the cost increase by approximately $20,000.
