Hometown Harvest Happenings

Fall Festival at Flaherty

Watervliet Business Association is holding a community fall festival in Flaherty Park on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 7 to 10 p.m. Activities include hay rides, caramel apple bar, hot donuts, apple cider, a haunted trail and games.

Children dressed in costumes will receive free gifts and everyone who attends can enjoy an outdoor showing of the Peanuts movie, The Great Pumpkin,

Trick or Treating is encouraged with a special attraction from Watervliet Schools. Kids should be sure to visit the “Zombie Bus”.

Arclight Brewery is hosting The All Niters, a local band for live music from 8 to 11 p.m.

All ages, young and old will enjoy this free fall festival. Come prepared for fun! Flaherty Park is west on Butternut Street and along Mill Creek. Parking is available in the downtown community lot with access to the park.

The WBA will be taking a good will donation to help pay for the 2023 Watervliet Independence Day Celebration.


Celebrate Halloween in Coloma with Trunk or Treat

The City of Coloma in partnership with Salem Lutheran Church will have Halloween Trunk or Treat on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2-4 p.m. in Salem’s Activity Field. Free hot dogs, popcorn, candy, apples, cider and cocoa while supplies last.

This event is organized by North Berrien Community Development, Coloma Lions Club and Coloma Township Police Department.

Pumpkin Derby

Coloma Lions Club Pumpkin Derby will be in Salem Lutheran Parking Lot on Saturday, Oct. 22. Weigh in is at 10 a.m. and the race is at 11. Visit www.colomalions.com for registration and kit information.

More spooktacular Halloween fun

Coloma Rod and Gun Club with the Coloma FOP Lodge offers a Halloween event on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 3-6 p.m. at 6145 Angling Rd. Everyone is invited to enjoy candy, apple toss, hayrides and loads of fun. Wear your best costume!


Trick or Treat hours

City of Hartford

Residential Trick or Treating is allowed in the City of Hartford on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m.

The crew of the Hartford Fire Department will throw open the doors of the Station House located on E. Main Street for their Annual Halloween Spooktacular event on Saturday, Oct. 29 during trick or treat hours. Kids of all ages are welcomed to stop by! It’s a great place for mom and dad to grab a break to rest their feet. (Restrooms are available.)

City of Watervliet

Families can celebrate Halloween in the City of Watervliet on Monday, Oct. 31 starting with Downtown Merchant Trick or Treating from 3 – 5 p.m. It is always a treat to watch all the little people in cute costumes gather treats in a safe and monitored setting.

Follow that treat gathering fun with residential Trick or Treating from 5-7 in the city’s neighborhoods.

While still in costume head to the old paper mill lot from 7-8 p.m. for a bonfire with popcorn and cider, weather permitting.

City and Township of Coloma

Residential Trick or Treat hours are set for the neighborhoods in the city and township of Coloma on Monday, Oct. 31 from 5 to 7 p.m.
