HOPE Resources and Mosaic to offer Jobs for Life program
HOPE Resources is partnering with Mosaic of Benton Harbor to offer Jobs for Life, a national Christian-based program designed to help participants prepare for success in the workforce. The first class will be Wednesday, Oct. 7, and will meet from 4 to 7 p.m. once a week for approximately eight to 10 weeks at HOPE Resources.
Kristine Murray will lead the program. Murray has previous experience with the Jobs for Life curriculum through her ministry work with women who have experienced domestic abuse and violence. Mosaic has also worked with multiple groups using the program and will provide instruction.
Jobs for Life focuses on helping participants develop workplace skills, habits and support systems. Topics will include qualities employers look for in employees, positive workplace habits, honesty and integrity, resume preparation and other employment skills.
The first class is expected to include approximately seven to 10 participants. Those enrolled will commit to attending the weekly sessions and completing 10 hours of volunteer service during the program.
Participants will also be paired with volunteer mentors who will provide encouragement and support throughout the course.
Those interested in participating can register in person at HOPE Resources in Coloma or online at www.mosaicCCDA.com.
