Hot rods, motorcycles invited to honor the life of Rick Kinzler

Family and friends of longtime Watervliet resident Rick “Trashman” Kinzler are invited to celebrate his life Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, at Arclight Brewery in Watervliet.

A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m., with Pastor Ed Richcreek officiating. A celebration of life and luncheon will follow.

Kinzler, 79, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Sept. 5. He was well known throughout the community and retired from Republic Services after 51 years in garbage service.

Throughout his life, Kinzler had a deep love for racing, hot rods and Harley-Davidson motorcycles. He spent many years racing and showing cars and passed his enthusiasm for racing down through generations of his family. He and his wife, Laura, also enjoyed riding motorcycles together and attending bike runs and other events.

As a special tribute to Kinzler and the things he loved, his family would love to see guests arrive at the celebration in their hot rods or on their motorcycles.

Arclight Brewery is located at 544 N. Main St. in Watervliet.
