Christmas Store
The Friends of the Hartford Library will be opening its Christmas Store on Thursday, Nov. 18. All proceeds go to support summer reading programs at the library for children. Everything is reasonably priced. They also have new children’s books for sale at $1.00 each. Books make a wonderful Christmas gift for children.
Holiday activities & hours
The Hartford library will be building “Gingerbread Houses” on Wednesday, Dec. 8 from 4 to 5 p.m. All supplies are free.
The library will close at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 24 and reopen on Friday, Nov. 26. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Watervliet District Library news
November Book Sale
Interested book buyers are invited to take advantage of the November book sale, “Fill a bag for a buck”. The Watervliet District Library has a large selection of adult hardback fiction volumes in excellent condition looking for a new home. Children’s books and paperbacks are also for sale. The sale runs from Nov. 22 through Dec. 4.
Crafts
Thanksgiving-theme children’s packet projects are available for pickup at the library, while supplies last.
Pinteresting, a craft program for adults, will be offered the last week of the month, Nov. 29 through Dec. 4. This month’s craft: Twine covered ornaments. Registration is required.
Holiday Hours
The library will close early at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, and be closed Thursday, the 25th, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Coloma Public Library news
Holiday Hours & Program Schedule
The Coloma Public Library will close for the Thanksgiving holiday starting Thursday, Nov. 25 and will reopen Monday, Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. Several programs have been adjusted for the holiday. Thanksgiving Craft Kits
Turkeys to Go! Craft kits for Toddlers/PreK will be available for pickup in the library starting Tuesday, Nov. 23 while supplies last.
School’s Out Game Play
School is closed on Wednesday, Nov. 24, but kids won’t be bored! Stop by the library any time during the day to enjoy a variety of games spread out in the Children’s and Teen’s Departments. Games will include Uno, Sorry, mini golf putting, corn hole, and more.
Toddler/PreK Story Times
Interactive story times with music, movement, and a craft are at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s area of the library on Thursday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, November 30.
Paws for Howl-iday Reading
Join certified therapy dogs, Margaret and Pailey on Thursday, Nov. 18 and Tuesday, Nov. 23 for reading sessions from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Program is intended for school-aged children, kindergarten and older. Each individual literacy session will be 15 minutes. Contact the library to preregister your child. Masks are required for the safety of children and the dogs with exceptions for children medically unable to wear masks.
Story Walk in Randall Park
A brand-new Braille-enhanced StoryWalk has been set up in Randall Park. The Story is “The Watermelon Seed” by Greg Pizzoli.
Freebies for Teens
Teens can sign up to receive a monthly box of surprises to keep along with a specially selected library book to read and return. Call, email, or message the library through Facebook for more info.
