Holiday Hours & Program Schedule

Reindeer Games 4 Teens
Teens wear your ugliest Christmas sweater and join the library for games, prizes, movies and hot cocoa in their Community Room! Absolutely free to attend Friday, Dec. 17 at 1 p.pm.
Christmas Ornaments around the World
The public is invited for a hands-on, informative presentation for all ages with presenter Kerry Binnington about Christmas ornaments from around the world! Monday, Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m.
Toddler/PreK Story Times
Interactive story times with music, movement, and a craft are at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays.
Grab n’Go Craft Kits
Kits will be in the Lobby on the Curbside Cart on Thursdays starting at 10 a.m. Make a craft in the Children’s Department or take it to do at home. Activity is for preschool to school-aged children. Available while supplies last.
Paws for Reading
Join certified therapy dogs, Margaret and Pailey in the Children’s Department for weekly reading sessions on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Program is intended for school-aged children, kindergarten and older. Each individual literacy session will be 15 minutes. Contact the library to preregister your child. Masks are required for the safety of children and the dogs with exceptions for children medically unable to wear masks.
Book Club
The Coloma Public Library Book Club meets every other Thursday in the Community Room at 4 p.m. The public is welcome to participate. The next book club discussion is Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022. Contact the library for the reading list.

Holiday activities
Santa’s Workshop in the library’s Community Room will be open through Saturday, Dec. 18. Families are welcome to stop by anytime during open hours to make Christmas cards, ornaments and a handmade gift. All supplies are provided. No registration is required.
Teens and pre-teens are invited to participate in the December “Disguise a Gingerbread Man” contest, now through Tuesday, Dec. 21. Pick up a gingerbread figure at the library and bring it back in disguise before the 22nd to be entered into the contest. Judging takes place Dec. 22. The winner will receive a $5 gift card to a favorite fast-food franchise.
Find the Library Elf on the Shelf and pick up a sweet treat at the desk. A clue will be posted in the library each day concerning the elf’s whereabouts, through Dec. 22.
The December Pinteresting craft will be desk calendar packets, available December 23-30. Registration is required. Contact the library to sign up.
Third Monday Book Club
The Little Prince, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic, has been chosen as the 3rd Monday Book Club’s December pick. Although often considered a book for children, The Little Prince’s observations about life are also appropriately suited for adults. Copies are available for anyone wishing to attend, December 20 at 7 p.m.
