Watervliet District Library news

Seed Library

The Watervliet District Library’s seed library has returned. Interested gardeners will be allowed to pick up free seeds while they last. A variety of fruit, vegetable, flower, and herb seed packets are available.

2023 Southwest Michigan Poetry Contest

The Southwest Michigan Poetry Contest is back! Anyone in Berrien, Cass, and Van Buren counties is welcome to submit a short poem that represents and celebrates Southwest Michigan. Stop by the library today for the official entry form and more complete details.

Spring Brick Blast

Honor a friend or loved one with your $75 donation towards an engraved brick for the Legacy Walk located throughout the Mary Tatter Garden Park. Submit your brick engraving form by April 29 for fall placement.

Mommy and Me Crafting Class

Enjoy this Mother’s Day craft with your kids on Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. until noon. Color a DIY flowerpot and plant your own flower seeds. This program is for ages 5-12 years old. Space is limited and sign-up is required.

DIY Candy Sushi

Create your DIY candy sushi on Monday, May 15 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. This program is for ages 10-15 years old. Space is limited and sign-up is required.



Coloma Public Library news

2023 Poetry Contest

Submissions for the 2023 Annual Southwest Michigan Poetry Contest are due by Friday, April 21 at 4 p.m. For rules and further information, visit the North Berrien Historical Museum’s website.

Coloma Community Schools Bond Q&A

Community members are invited to the Coloma Public Library Community Room on Tuesday, April 18 at 6 p.m. for a presentation of the upcoming bond proposal as well as a chance to ask questions. The vote will be Tuesday, May 2 in the Community Room.

Toddler/PreK Story Times

Interactive story times and activities for toddlers and Pre-K age children with Miss Sara on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Book Club

The public is invited to join the Book Club every other Thursday in the Community Room. Next meeting is April 27 at 4 p.m. The selected title is Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting by Clare Pooley.

Paws for Reading

School-age children are invited for 15-minute individual literacy sessions with certified therapy dogs, Margaret and Pailey on Wednesdays. Next session is April 19 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. Pre-registration is preferred, but walk-ins are accommodated when possible.
