MARIE O. REITZ

Marie Olga Reitz passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in her home Aug. 2, 2026 at 3 a.m.

Marie was born Dec. 16, 1958, to Richard and Wilma Reitz. She graduated from Constantine, MI. Marie enjoyed joy riding, listening to 80s hair bands and 90s country music, as well as her and her sister going to concerts. Marie and her daughter bonded over their love of music together from oldies, to classical to gospel to heavy metal. She would take time to share songs to her daughter that she thought she would like.

Marie was a hard worker and worked for her dad in his various fruit stands in Michigan and in Florida. One of her joys in life besides her children was spending time with and playing with her grandchildren. She was always happy to show everyone the most current picture of them to anyone who asked. She worked at Watervliet Harding’s as well as Coloma Schools as the lunch lady for some time, most recently working at Coloma Harding’s since 2013. Marie was a one of a kind woman that didn’t have a filter… who will be loved and missed by all who knew and loved her.

Marie is survived by her daughter Heather Reitz; two grandchildren, Christian and Daniel Parker; and sister Rene Michelson of SC.

She is preceded in death by her father Richard C. Reitz, mother Wilma I. Reitz, son Daniel L. Reitz, grandson Samuel L. Parker, brother-in-law Jerry Michelson of SC, and other countless aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marie’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Duffield & Pastrick Family Funeral Home in Coloma. Those wishing to leave an online message for the family may do so at www.duffieldpastrick.com.
