Mask mandates loom with Delta variant on the rise; CDC recommends all students and staff wear face

As COVID-19 transmission rates increase in the tri-county area, guidance from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services continues to strongly recommend, but yet not mandated indoor mask use. The Centers for Disease Control is also recommending that all students and school staff wear face masks; however, no sweeping mask mandates have been made at the federal or state level for K-12 students or college students. Following the MDHHS lead, local area health departments are strongly recommending face masks for all students, teachers and staff at this time.
