Hartford American Legion Post 533
On Memorial Day, May 30, 2022, Post 533 will lead the Hartford Memorial Day Parade from the Hartford Middle School to Ely Park. Any veteran who would like to participate, please feel welcome to join in. Post members will make every effort to include any veteran. They will have golf carts available for those who need to ride. Lineup is at 9:30 a.m. and the parade starts at 10 a.m. Email americanlegion533@yahoo.com with questions.
A Memorial Day service will be held in Ely Park at the conclusion of the parade.
Watervliet VFW Post 1137
Watervliet VFW Past 1137 will conduct a Memorial Day service on Monday, May 30 at the Watervliet City Cemetery starting at 11 a.m. Speaker for this year’s service will be Don Oderkirk, retired U.S. Navy Lt. Commander and Viet Nam Veteran.
Watervliet High School sophomore, Lauren Lovell will be present to lead the singing of the National Anthem along with 2022 Miss Watervliet Hannah Hart and her court.
Closing ceremony will be the traditional volley of three shots and the playing of Taps.
Keeler Township
Keeler Township is observing Memorial Day with a service at the Keeler Township Cemetery on Monday, May 30, at 12:00 noon.
The American Legion of Lawrence will be there to perform Taps and the Hartford Jr-Sr High Band will play a selection. The guest speaker is Honorable Mike McKay from the Van Buren District Court.
Coloma American Legion Post 362
American Legion Post 362 of Coloma will be conducting a Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 30 beginning at 1 p.m. The service will take place in the Veterans Memorial Area of the Coloma City Cemetery.
North Shore Memory Gardens
North Shore Memory Gardens, 5027 M-63 in Coloma will hold a brief military service at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 30 in their veterans section.
