MERLIN GRANT HARPER JR.

 Grant’s life began July 16, 1950, in Watervliet. Grant loved living in Watervliet. He was a talented wood worker and owned Creekside Custom Woodworking for many years. Grant many times used his talent to help his community making signs for various needs such as the sign for the annual duck race during the July 4th festival still being used. He had a great love for trains belonging to a club in Coloma and he had a garden railroad. Grant also enjoyed fishing, building models, and relaxing with a good movie.

 Grant’s family includes his daughter Lisa Harper, granddaughter Nicole Trux, grandson, EJ Adams Jr.; a sister, Lorreta Bahr, three nieces, and his best friend since fourth grade Dave Lamplot.

 Grant died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at Timbers of Cass County in Dowagiac. He is preceded in death by his parents Merlin and JoAnn (Dale) Harper.
