Michigan Maritime Museum seeks volunteer crew for Tall Ship “Friends Good Will”

Adventure awaits on the Great Lakes! The Michigan Maritime Museum is calling on aspiring sailors and history enthusiasts to join the volunteer crew of Friends Good Will for the 2026 sailing season.

This is someone’s chance to step back in time and crew a traditional tall ship, a replica of an 1810 merchant vessel that once navigated the Great Lakes. Volunteers will take part in hands-on sailing experiences, learning seamanship skills, sail handling, setting sails, a solid introduction to sailing a tall ship, and share the rich maritime heritage of the region with museum guests, students, and fellow sailors.
