MILDRED “MILLIE” LITTLE SEXTON


Millie’s life began October 16, 1936, in Missouri. When she was a child her family moved making Southwest Michigan their home. She worked for many years as a manager at Farmer Friday’s. After Farmer Friday’s closed she studied floral design and continued working as a florist for 22 years. Millie enjoyed filling her free time shopping, and going to breakfast and dinner club with the girls.

She leaves behind a loving family to cherish her memory including: two daughters, Tina Archie and Linda (Fred) Wheeler; three grandchildren, Talissa (Russell) Toon, Fred Wheeler (Amy), and Yolanda Wheeler (Sev); eight great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren, Travis Archie and Aaron (Kerri) Archie; four step-great-grandchildren; her sister, Denise (Mike) Crockett; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Millie died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, at West Woods of Bridgman. She is preceded in death by two husbands, Jerry Little and Dick Sexton; her parents, James and Berenice Jackson; four siblings, Bill Jackson, Tommy Jackson, Betty Merrit, and Dorothy Boschke; and a son-in-law, John Archie.

Funeral services will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at 3 p.m. with visitation prior starting at 2 p.m. at Hutchins Funeral Home in Watervliet. She will be laid to rest privately in Coloma Cemetery. You are invited to leave a message of comfort for Millie’s family at hutchinsfuneral.com.
