Hey, who’s dropping acorns on my head? It’s not the typical black squirrels I see racing back and forth across the woods in preparation for winter, but a newly observed visitor to my backyard. After looking up and listening to their sounds, I saw three red-headed woodpeckers flitting around the treetops, getting their fill presumably of acorns and insects.
