Palisades’ shutdown fuels environmental concerns; NRC meeting scheduled for May 12
For the last half century, the Palisades Power Plant has been generating energy here in southwest Michigan. That’s all scheduled to end in 2022. Back in 2011, Entergy bought the plant for $380 million from Consumers Energy, and announced in 2018 it was selling the plant to Holtec International, which plans to decommission the plant post shutdown.
