PORTIA BORG
Portia Borg passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024, at Christian Healthcare in Lynden, Washington, at the age of 95.
Portia was born to Robert Kubin and Gretchen (Bacon) Chaddock on August 19, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois. The Kubin family owned the Atlas Prager Beer Brewery of which Robert was a son.
Her grandfather on her mother’s side was the famous western artist, Irving R. Bacon whose works are on display at The Buffalo Bill Cody Museum in Cody, Wyoming and at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, MI. Her childhood was spent in Dearborn, MI and Hartford, MI.
Portia lived a full life as a Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a talented artist excelling in watercolor painting. As a teenager she loved big band music and dancing at the local ballroom. She also was an avid birdwatcher.
Portia is survived by her three sons, Joseph (Peggy), Mark (Jean) and Eric (Thess); grandchildren, Alan, Bret, Katrina, Luke and Ellie and seven great-grandchildren; also, her cousins Karl Kiser and Katrina Miller.
Her memorial will be held in Hartford, MI on June 22, 2024 with interment at the Keeler Cemetery. For details, contact Mark Frontczak.
