PROGRESS NOT PREVENTED BY PICKETERS… Members of Construction Laborers’ Local 355 of Battle Creek, Michigan picket outside Watervliet High School as Phase 2 construction work continues at the high and middle schools. Watervliet Superintendent Kevin Schooley said, “I know that the (Phase 2) project was publicly bid and went to responsible low bidders. (The picketers) are not preventing construction progress.” Requests for comment from Ar-lander Washington, business manager of Local 355, were not returned.
Coloma F.O.P #147 scheduled events
On Friday, June 10, the bar will be open but the kitchen will be closed. The F.O.P will be hosting a fundraiser for the Watervliet Varsity Football this night. June 17, there will be a special dinner, cooking will be off the menu. June 24, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. A.Y.C.E Fish and Chicken Strip Buffet for $10. July 1, the F.O.P will be closed in celebration of Independence Day.

The June 14 Coloma Watervliet Area Chamber of Commerce meeting has been cancelled and the next meeting will be held Tuesday July 12th at noon at Mill Creek Charlie’s in Watervliet.
