Protecting Line 5 and the Michigan workforce

On May 20, 2021, I sent a letter to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration asking the U.S. government to enforce a 1977 treaty with Canada that would keep the Line 5 pipeline operational. I also sent copies of my letter to state and federal government leaders.
