Public hearing scheduled on Main Street tree replacement

The City of Watervliet is holding a special public hearing on Tuesday, August 5 at 5 p.m. to gather input from residents regarding the planned replacement of the trees lining Main Street. The hearing will be held at City Hall immediately prior to the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting that begins at 5:30 p.m. The existing 22 locust trees are slated to be removed in early August due to the damage they are causing to the sidewalks and commercial buildings.
