2023 School Bond Information Night
Hartford Public Schools (HPS) held a Community Forum on the Bond, on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2023. The district also plans to hold a 2023 School Bond Information Night on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 6:30 p.m. in the Hartford High School Auditorium. Watch the district’s website, hpsmi.org, and the district’s social media channels for more information.
This November, on Tuesday the 7th, the Hartford School District will have an opportunity to vote on the Hartford Public Schools Bond proposal. This bond would provide funding for the critical needs identified in the facility assessment and the community input.
The amount of $22.6 Million is what will be needed to support these health and safety updates. Water pipes, water heater, exhaust fans, and restroom improvements are some of the most critical needs to be addressed. Those identified critical needs, ADA compliance, and further infrastructure updates are necessary to for daily operations. This bond, if passed, would not increase the millage rate as a previous bond is set to expire this year. This means that tax payers will not see an increase in their taxes from this bond, the millage rates would remain similar to the ones seen recently.
