Reminiscing with Pearl Playford

With the approach of August, preparations are in the making for the annual get-together of the Forty Year Club, which is always on the second Wednesday of August and is one of the highlights of the summer season locally. It is an organization composed of women who attended or taught in the Watervliet public schools 40 or more years ago, and its members comprise people in various states. The club was organized 44 years ago in the home of the late Mrs. Laura Abernethy Hammel and no one is now living who joined that small group at that time.
